World Without War
by Mokai
Lyrics:

Raise your voice against the silence,
If only to hear your own cry;
Don’t support the violence
That perpetuates a lie.
Paint your colors on the darkness,
No matter what the risk;
Light a candle in the tempest
To show you exist.

Because if you’d only sing your song
Louder than before,
We can make a world without war.

You can’t count the dead;
You can’t count the tears
Or all the blood that’s been shed
Throughout the years;
You can’t justify the carnage,
Can’t justify the pain;
In every conflict through the ages
They all have died in vain.

But if you’d only sing your song
Louder than be fore,
We can make a world without war.

Live your fullest in this moment,
As you plant your seeds;
Don’t be scared by the tyrants
Who want to control your needs.
Help somebody with their burden,
Let them share your load,
Because we are all on one journey,
we are all on one road.

So if you’d only sing your song
Louder than ever before,
We can make a world without war.

Why no US and British Troops body count? Because it is not being reported reliably. Somewhere around 100 or so American soldiers have died so far, but that doesn't count soldiers who may return "alive" having been exposed to uranium or harmed by the vaccines that caused over 20,000 vets from our last war in this region to get "Gulf War Syndrome." If you are reading this and you know of a good source, let me know (see link to my site at right and find my email address there). Meanwhile, read some predictions of body counts from all sides.

10 things you can do to

W A G E
P E A C E

1. Practice Peace. Believe that everyone has the potential for good inside. Hold open that possibility for each and every person. The real enemy is within each of us...that thing that tempts us to hate those with whom we disagree. Talk to your neighbors, co-workers, and friends with compassion. Speak to people who do not necessarily agree with your position about your reasons for opposing the war.

2. Share Peace. Tell a friend about the song World Without War, and the 10 ways to keep waging peace

3. Buy Peace. Become a War Tax Resister or join One Million Taxpayers for Peace and use the money you save to fund organizations working for peace. Boycott Brand America: Exxon, Texaco, Starbucks, Gap and more.

4. Broadcast Peace. Challenge manufactured consent for war. Join the Media Corps. Call major network news stations and tell them that you do not buy their manipulated polls. Demand that they do more to investigate before reporting US and British Government officials' claims. (this link will let you look up numbers of local media...scroll down to option 2).

5. Express Peace. Create art, music and poetry that celebrates the peace movement and inspires others to express opposition to war.

6. Learn Peace. Familiarize yourself with the principles of non-violence. Attend or conduct a non-violence training to learn how our language, body language, and our thinking can deescalate and diffuse violent situations.

7. Visualize Peace. Use meditation, prayer, art, or any means that works for you.

8. Demonstrate Peace. Participate in mass peace demonstrations and civil disobedience.

9. Vote for Peace. Call your elected officials and tell them that you oppose war and that you expect them to initiate alternatives to wars now and in the future.
There is a FREE number for contacting Senators and House members to express your opinions on the war:
1-800-839-5276.
Support Kucinich for President.
Participate in an independent poll about the war.

10. Wage Peace. Never give up. Develop your own ways to further the cause of peace in this world. Read the essay that inspired this list.
