Last month was an incredible show for an important civil rights trial that ended April 28 in a victory for the people! The ancient forest activists known as the"Pepper Spray Eight" won their case to end to the police practice of using pepper spray to torture nonviolent protesters.

THANK YOU to our SPONSOR EMB Studios. They are giving away 4 hours of studio recording time every month at CAUSE!

Each month, the audience votes on the artist to receive the studio time. So come on out and vote your favorite artist! (we count EVERY vote).

Congratulations Kid Beyond, Trevor Garrod, Loretta Lynch, and Storyhill who won the drawings thus far.

CC's Acoustic Underground Showcase (CAUSE) is presented by "CC" and Sunset Promotions (of SF Funk Fest and North Beach Jazz Fest) at the Elbo Room in San Francisco's Mission district. We raise money for important causes while presenting an eclectic mix of acoustic music on the third Monday of each month. CAUSE has featured many of the Bay Area's finest emerging artists including:
Kid Beyond, Trevor Garrod of Tea Leaf Green, John Ellis (Charlie Hunter), Etienne de Rocher, essence, Loretta
Lynch, Garrin Benfield, Erika Luckett, Mokai, Shelley Doty, Austin Willacy,
David Jacobs-Strain, Teja Gerken, David Boyce, Joanne Rand, Copper Wimmin, AJ Roach, David Hopkins, and Rachel Garlin.

If you want to perform at CC's Acoustic Underground Showcase the best thing you can do is support this event!

I am working to build a community of musicians and music lovers who gather once a month to celebrate the underground scene and the causes we care about. If you have submitted a CD and have not heard back, come to the next showcase and bring some friends. I am building each night as a theme around a specific cause, but I will be giving preference to those artists who become part of the scene by showing up each month and bring new people to the event.

If you have not yet done so, come to the next showcase, bring a copy of a CD that demonstrates the set you want to perform, bring a copy of your gig schedule, and bring some people to the showcase. I am working with each artist who performs as partners, so if chosen to perform, I expect each artist to devise their own strategies for getting their crowd to turn out.

A note to performers...I am especially looking for duos, acoustic bands, percussion, world-music influence, exciting and interesting eclectic instruments. The showcase is designed to bring acoustic music to the broader audience of fans of funk, jazz, world music and blues. I have limited slots for solo acoustic singer/songwriters, so if that describes you, consider putting together a duo or getting someone to back you up for this showcase and you will have a greater chance of getting booked.

Follow up within 2 weeks of giving me the info about your music

thanks,

CC
